Hailing from San Turce Puerto Rico, band leader, Francisco Mejias formed Ritmo Jazz Latino in 2012. This is a 5 piece ensemble of gifted musicians specializing in the language of true Latin Jazz!! The ensemble features traditional latin percussion utilizing Timbal & Conga over a drum set. Other insturmentation is piano, bass, and vocals. The musicians in this group specialize in creating such infectious sounds with new and exciting arrangements for various standards as well as original compositions. They have been featured as lead acts at presitgious festivals such as Winter Park Jazz Festival, Taste of Colorado, Cherry Creek Arts Festival, City Park Jazz Festival and more.
From the fiery Salsa/Afro-Cuban rhythms of the Caribbean,to the enchanting rhythms of the Brazilian Bossa Nova sung in Portuguese, Ritmo Jazz Latino simply does it all!
